Description
Dated 1865, Tower Lodge is a single-storey and attic L-plan house situated within the grounds of Dunrobin Castle. A projecting porch, with canted sides and rising the full height of the building, is positioned in the south-west re-entrant angle. A large, two-storey circular tower with a conical roof is attached to the south gable. The exterior is of rubble construction with tooled dressings. The main house features small, mainly light, bipartites and tripartites. There are two small, gabletted dormers in the west-facing elevation.
The tower has an entrance in the angle with the south gable of the house; a forestair is located on the east side. The first floor of the tower is characterised by pointed-headed windows. The building has varied glazing, tall lateral stacks, and slate roofs.
