High Square, Home Farm, Armadale, Skye

High Square, Home Farm in Armadale, Skye, is an early 19th-century building that was restored after a fire by John Mackenzie of Portree in 1891. The structure features coursed rubble with contrasting pale sandstone dressings, particularly noticeable on the dovecot. The farm square is arranged in a large U-shape and opens to the south. At the southwest corner, there is a three-stage dovecot tower that includes a workshop on the ground floor and a heated room on the first floor. The dovecot has flightholes set within small arched recesses, bracketted alighting ledges, deep eaves, and a pyramidal slate roof.

The rear range is two stories high and has three cart arches, along with granary vents on the first floor and a ramp leading to the granary. There is a wheel gable on the east side, although it does not have a wheel. To the east of the main building, there is a saw mill that is still in working order. The west range is a single-storey, eight-bay dwelling that is harled and features a modern box dormer and a centrally projecting porch.
