Description
Kinning Park Colour Works is an ornate two-storey brick office and laboratory building, constructed between 1892 and 1893 by Bruce and Hay. It features a wide-gable front facing the street. On the left side, there is an off-centre aedicule doorway adorned with a "HH" mosaic and flanked by recessed demi-columns beneath a segmental pediment. To the right, there is a cart entrance with the original door, set under concentric polychrome brick arches. The first floor includes two round-headed bipartite windows, two oculi, and a third oculus located in the gable head. The building is topped with shaped skews and skewputts, along with a ball finial. The side elevations are decorated with a dentil cornice, and the roof is slate.
