4, 6, 8 Jocelyn Square, Glasgow

4, 6, 8 Jocelyn Square is a terrace of tenements built in 1905 by the Office of Public Works, located at the corner of Saltmarket and Jocelyn Square, with shops on the ground floor. The building stands four storeys tall and is constructed of polished red sandstone.

The elevation facing Jocelyn Square features a five-bay design, while the Saltmarket side has eleven bays, with a distinctive bowed bay at the corner. The Jocelyn Square elevation includes canted full-height oriel windows in the outer bays that rise to deep parapets. The inner three bays have single light windows, with a mutule cornice above the first floor and an aedicular central window on the second floor. All windows are sash and case with plate glass and two-pane glazing. The building has an eaves cornice and tall, corniced ashlar stacks at the wallhead.

The Saltmarket elevation is similarly detailed, featuring canted oriels in the outer bays and the central two bays. The corner bay has a bowed oriel starting from the first floor, topped by a deep octagonal parapet on the third floor, which includes cartouches on each face separated by pilasters, and is crowned with a lead ogee dome.

The roofs are slate, with tall axial and wall head stacks, while the rear elevation is constructed of brick.
