Tramway Theatre, 25 Albert Drive, Glasgow

The Tramway Theatre, located at 25 Albert Drive in Glasgow, is a building that was originally a tramworks and depot, constructed in stages. The horse tram depot was designed by engineer W. Clark and completed in 1894. It features a two-storey, nine by four bay front made of ashlar stone, with stables located on the first floor. Between 1899 and 1912, a single-storey workshop with nine bays was added. The building was converted into a museum in 1964. The street-facing elevation showcases a long, tall painted ashlar front with classical details, a massive rock-faced base, and nine round-headed openings. Originally, six of these openings served as tram entrances, but three were bricked up during the 1964 conversion. A deep entablature at the top of the building conceals the roofs.
