Description
Maryfield Transport Depot is a long single-storey brick building that was originally constructed as a tram depot in 1901. It is set back from Forfar Road in Dundee.
The west elevation features twin curvilinear gables made of red and blue brick, with oculi positioned above large tram doors. There are smaller flanking doors and windows that have stone lintels. The sides of the building consist of 40 bays of blind recessed panels.
The roof is a slate M-roof, equipped with north lights and pyramidal ventilators.
Inside, the depot has twin-aisled timber roofs supported by a single row of cast-iron columns. There is a low panelled boundary wall at the front, although the gatepiers are missing. In front of the depot, tram rails can still be seen in the setted courtyard.
