Description

Rebuilt by David Baxter 1908. Near-rectangular plan concrete-roofed reservoir within castellated rubble-built boundary walls and towers. Elevation to Clepington Road: rock-faced rubble wall with ashlar coping. 2 small square-plan towers with corbelled-out castellated parapets: centre Valve House, Chart Room to right, each with central

nail-studded doors within roll - and hood-moulded architraves flanked by blind slit windows. Valve house inscribed Dundee Water Works 1845/1908. Chart Room bears arms of Dundee and has angle turrets.

S, E and W elevations: random rubble wall with ashlar coping. Small square towers with corbelled-out castellated parapets at angles and midpoints.

Reservoir concrete-roofed and turfed over. Valve house interior somewhat altered, except water level gauge.

Steel railings to Clepington Road with ashlar conical-capped gatepiers.
