Alexandra Parade Primary School, 136 Armadale Street, Glasgow

220 Armadale Street in Glasgow is a three-storey board school built between 1895 and 1899 by architects MacWhannel and Rogerson. The building features restrained Art Nouveau ornamentation and is constructed of red ashlar. It has a symmetrical T-plan front facing Alexandra Parade, with roof parapets and low modern additions at the front and sides. The gabled centre includes inscriptions, and the window arrangement is unusual, with three windows at the ground floor, two above, and one at the top floor in the outer ranges. The rear ranges are longer and feature entrances, stacks, and stair windows on the flank elevations of the centre gables.

Most of the glazing consists of original sash windows with several different glazing patterns. The roofs are slated and include ventilators. There is a single-storey and attic janitor's lodge to the northwest, which is asymmetrical and has modern glazing. The property is enclosed by rock-faced low playground walls with wrought-iron railings and ashlar gatepiers, contributing to the overall composition.
