The Tenement House, Flat 1/2, 145 Buccleuch Street, Glasgow

The Tenement House, Flat 1/2, located at 145 Buccleuch Street in Glasgow, was designed by Clarke and Bell in 1892. This first-floor flat features four rooms, including a small internal hall, a parlour and bedroom at the front, and a kitchen and bathroom at the rear. It is situated to the east of a common stair within a four-storey tenement block that has plain bay windows, extending into Garnet Street. Originally used for domestic purposes, it is now a property of the National Trust for Scotland.

The flat retains a largely complete and minimally altered late 19th-century interior, as observed in 2014. It includes timber panelled doors throughout, foliate plasterwork in the parlour, and original marble and cast-iron chimneypieces with decorative tiled insets. The kitchen features an original cast-iron range and a timber coal bunker in a low cupboard, along with a sink that has a wringer. There is a closet with an original bed off the parlour and a bed recess with an original bed in the recess off the kitchen. The bathroom is equipped with original sanitary fittings.
