Description

The Edward VIII pillar box on Albert Drive was made by the Carron Company in Stirlingshire in 1936. It is a columnar cast-iron structure featuring a swept frieze leading to a shallow-domed cap that has a dentilled rim. The base is painted black and includes the manufacturer's signature. The shaft displays 'EVIIIR' in raised Gothic lettering, with a crown above and the words 'POST OFFICE' below.
