Description
44-45 Tollcross Road in Glasgow is a four-storey tenement building designed by J C McKellar in 1905, situated on a gushet site. The ground floor features a bank and shops, while the upper floors are characterized by a twin-towered end facing Parkhead Cross, complete with a balustrade over the bank. The building has a central stack on a projecting chimney breast and a parapet, with broad-eaved flanks and plain elevations that include some aedicules and stacks. There is a single-storey fire break at 11-19 Tollcross Road. The exterior is made of stone-cleaned red ashlar, with mostly modern glazing and conical roofs on the towers.
