Description
62 and 64 Helenvale Street in Glasgow is a four-storey tenement building designed by John Hamilton between 1902 and 1904. It is constructed of red ashlar and features art nouveau details. The stonework has been cleaned, although most of the glazing is modern. The original windows included two-pane lower sashes and eight-paned vertically-proportioned upper sashes. The building has a modern tiled roof. Shallow oriel windows are corbelled above the ground floor and are parapetted above the wall-head. There are paired wall-head stacks with shafts that also rise from above ground level, and the deep-eaved roof sweeps out between these features. A shop is located on the left side of the building, and the return elevation is similarly detailed.
