Description
William Williamson & Hubbard, 1933-1935. 2-storey, 7-bay, rectangular-plan, Wrenaissance library and clinic. Polished ashlar with broad channelled quoins and doorcases; harled with cement margins to sides. Deep moulded base and band courses and eaves cornice with lead blocking course, piend and platform roof. Architraved openings to N.
N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical with flanking screen walls. Bays 2 and 6 with round-headed, keystoned doorcases with concave flanks and blocking course; 2-leaf panelled timber door and decorative-astragalled fanlight, windows to all other bays; regular fenestration to 1st floor that to centre bay over moulded panel with Kirkcaldy coat-of-arms.
E AND W ELEVATIONS: 5-bay regular fenestration to 1st floor.
Small-pane glazing patterns in timber windows. Grey slates. Cast-iron downpipes with decorative rainwater hoppers.
INTERIOR: simple decorative scheme.
