Description

Late 17th century Italian terraced gardens attributed to Sir

William Bruce. Each terrace divided by balustraded walls

supporting urns; balustraded steps between levels; bold

buttresses supporting classical busts; pilastered keyblocked

arch with ball finials above cornice and blocking course,

cast-iron gate leads from upper terrace to park. Sundial. 2

lead statues close the long vista on the upper terrace. W A

Nesfield circa 1895 contributed the stairs with channelled

and keyblocked arched gateways and rococo cast-iron gates.
