Description
The building known as Steading at Comielaw dates from around 1770 and features a low and long two-storey design with three bays. It is constructed from whin rubble with dressed margins and has a slated roof. The central door is flanked by two windows, with the right window now doubled in size. On the first floor, the central window uses the door lintel as a cill, while the two outer windows are blind. An attic window is located in the gable end, which has straight skews and end stacks with thacking stanes.
Additionally, there is a steading built in 1834, which is U-shaped and made of rubble with brick-arched cart-sheds and pantile roofs. This structure features a variety of window, door, and loft openings, and includes a central cattle court also covered with pantile roofs.
