Description

Fernbank is an early 19th century house situated on The Causeway in Kennoway. It is a two-storey, three-bay building constructed of coursed and squared rubble, with random rubble to the sides and rear, and squared rubble quoins. The west elevation is symmetrical, featuring a recessed modern timber door in the centre of the ground floor, with windows in the flanking bays and regular fenestration to the first floor. The east elevation has later lean-to projections on the ground floor, a stair window to the centre, and an additional window in the bay to the right at the first floor. The north elevation is a blank gabled surface. The windows are modern hardwood sash and case windows with a four-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with modern red pantiles, and there are coped harled stacks with thackstanes, along with ashlar-coped skews. High, coped rubble boundary walls surround the property.
