Description
This is a two-storey, three-bay cottage dated 1766, with later alterations in the 20th century. It is located on The Causeway in Kennoway and includes an adjoining single-storey cottage on the east side and a garage structure. The main house is rectangular in plan and crowstepped, originally a house but now partially incorporated into the garage. The exterior is harled.
The south elevation features a boarded timber door in the centre bay at ground level, set deep within the wall, with a lintel carved with the dates '17 E )( W 66'. An enlarged window is to the right of the door, and a timber garage door is situated to the left. Small windows are positioned in the centre and right bays at the first floor level. The west elevation is a blank gable with crowsteps to the right pitch, incorporating a gablehead stack. The east elevation adjoins the single-storey cottage.
The windows are timber sash and case windows with 4-pane and 12-pane glazing patterns. The roof is covered with modern red pantiles. Harled stacks are present, along with some cans. Architectural details include ashlar-coped skews and a moulded skewputt on the southeast corner.
