Description
The War Memorial on Cupar Road in Kennoway was designed by Charles Campbell of Methil in 1921, with an additional memorial added in 1945. It features a Celtic Cross made of rock-faced ashlar. The base includes a plain tablet listing the names of those who fell in World War II, as well as names from conflicts in Korea, Malaysia, and the Falkland Islands. Above this, a raked plinth displays a roll-call for World War I, accompanied by the carved inscription "ERECTED IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FIGHTING FOR THEIR COUNTRY'S HONOUR." At the top, the Celtic Cross is adorned with a laurel wreath and the dates 1914-18 are positioned close to the base of the shaft.
