Forbes Cottage, The Causeway, Kennoway

Forbes Cottage is a circa 1800 single-storey and low-floor cottage situated on ground sloping to the south. It is constructed of squared rubble and harl, with an eaves course.

The west elevation is symmetrical. A modern brick parapet sits above a pair of boarded timber doors with a plate glass fanlight. Windows are located in the flanking bays, and a low boarded timber opening is present in the bay to the left at the low floor level.

The north elevation features a gabled bay with a window to the right, and a set-back extension beyond.

The windows are timber sash and case, with three-pane vertically-astragalled upper sashes and two-pane lower sashes. The roof is covered in grey slates. The chimney stacks are coped and harled, topped with cans, and include ashlar-coped skews with cable-moulded scrolled skewputts.
