Description
The sundial in Craigtoun Park dates from the 17th or very early 18th century. It features a two-step square base and plinth, with an octagonal shaft adorned with various dials, as well as reliefs of a thistle, rose, and fleur-de-lys. The sundial has a block capital with raked facet dials, a cubical lower head that includes hollow hemisphere and heart dials, and a top section with gnomons on most faces.
