Description
The Formal Garden at Craigtoun Park, designed by Paul Waterhouse in 1910, features a classical screen wall and a lozenge-plan balustraded area. It includes a through-walk and bowed ends with platforms that are accessed by steps. The central curved screen has three bays and is adorned with niches. It is designed with Doric pilasters that are coupled at the ends, and it features a full triglyph and circular metope frieze, which is present only at the central bay. The outer bays do not have a cornice. Additionally, there are consoled keyblocks and side scrolls that step down to ball finials.
