Description
Elmwood College Farm, dated 1844, features a 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse likely built around the same time. The house is constructed of stugged ashlar with polished dressings. On the south-east elevation, there is a central recessed panelled door with a fanlight and 12-pane sash windows. The narrow eaves band runs along the gables, which have finialled skewputts, and there are corniced end stacks topped with a slate roof. A low extension is located to the north-west.
The single-storey steading is built of rubble and includes lofts. The south-west gables of the two outer parallel blocks are made of stugged ashlar. The broad block has three roof ridges and large altered rectangular openings that adjoin the left block, while the right block is on two levels. There are three arcaded cart entrances below loft openings on the courtyard elevation. A modern building located to the north-west is of no interest.
