Description
The West Gateway of Dunnikier House, built in the late 19th century, features a carriage entrance flanked by pedestrian gates and screen walls. It is constructed from channelled ashlar and includes square-section gatepiers that have a reduced top stage and moulded finials. The flanking walls have fielded panels with scrollwork coping and segmental-arched pedestrian entrances. There are slightly smaller piers at the outer angles, detailed in the same manner, adjoining coped rubble quadrant walls. The gateway is adorned with decorative wrought-iron gates for both pedestrians and vehicles.
