Description
37 Kinghorn Road in Burntisland is a later 19th-century, two-storey house with an attic that has been converted into flats. It is part of an irregular terrace on sloping ground. The building features a pedimented doorcase with acroteria, polished ashlar stonework with long and short quoins, a large base course, a band course, and a cornice blocking course. The windows are architraved with stone mullions.
On the south entrance elevation, a flight of six steps leads to a deep-set panelled door with a plate glass fanlight at the centre. To the right, there is a full-height, corniced canted window, and to the left, another window along with a panelled door that has a plate glass fanlight in a single-storey, flat-roofed secondary entrance on the outer left. The first floor has regular fenestration, and there is a flat-roofed dormer window above the centre with piend-roofed dormer windows over the flanking bays. The sash and case windows have plate glass glazing, while modern windows are present on the first floor and in the flat-roofed dormer. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with polygonal cans and ashlar coped skews.
The property is enclosed by a low saddleback coped ashlar boundary wall to the south, and decorative cast-iron railings are present at the main entrance.
