Description

  1. Single storey with attic and raised basement to rear, 3-bay rectangular plan house on ground falling to N. Polished ashlar with rubble to sides and rear. Long and short quoins; stone mullions.

S ELEVATION: symmetrical. Deep-set panelled timber door with plate glass fanlight in moulded doorcase at centre with flat-roofed timber tripartite dormer window above. Flanking, slightly advanced, gabled bays with canted windows at ground with eaves cornice and blocking course, gablehead window above.

N ELEVATION: irregular 3-bay with stair window at centre and 6 small rooflights.

W ELEVATION: at ground stone stair to timber door at outer left, window to right; gablehead window off-centre left.

4-, 12- and 18-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows; timber dormer with small pane upper and plate glass lower sashes; aluminium(?) window at ground rear. Grey slates. Ashlar coped skews with moulded skewputts and finials, coped ashlar stacks with some polygonal cans.

INTERIOR: No 1: inner hall with 2-leaf part-glazed timber screen door and glazed fanlight; decorative cornicing and rose, and marble fireplace.
