Description

The doocot, dated 1661, is a circular pigeon house constructed with two horizontal bands of stone courses, with the lower courses stepped over an armorial panel that is now missing. The structure corbelled upwards to form a square base supporting a pyramidal roof, likely added later, which is now in a state of disrepair. The doocot is built of stone boxes. A similar doocot previously stood at South Dron, but has since been demolished. Reference is made to Inv 402 for further details.
