Description
Kilmaron Farmhouse is an earlier 19th century building that underwent alterations and additions in 1866 by the architects Gillespie and Scott of St Andrews. This two-storey farmhouse features an asymmetrical design with Gothic details. The structure is constructed of pinned whinstone rubble, accented with yellow ashlar long and short dressings.
On the west elevation, there are three unequal bays, with the left bay being recessed and lower. The central entrance is located behind a modern glass conservatory, and there is a single window above it. The outer bays have bipartite windows, with the right bay being blind. All openings are pointed. The south elevation also has three bays, with the left bay advanced and featuring hoodmoulded, pointed-headed bipartite windows. The farmhouse is topped with corniced wall-head stacks and a piended slate roof.
