Liberty House, Liberty, Elie

Liberty House in Elie is an 18th-century building that has been significantly extended at the rear. The house is two stories tall and features a rendered exterior that mimics ashlar stone with painted margins. The front has three windows and includes an earlier 19th-century broad single-storey porch made of droved ashlar, positioned between the right-hand windows. This porch has a tripartite design with moulded wooden mullions, a door on the side, and a low-pitched roof adorned with curvilinear bargeboards, a pendant, and a finial. The windows are reglazed and consist of two-pane sashes.

The main roof is slated with straight skews and has droved ashlar stacks at the center and ends, each topped with thin cornices. The original northwest end features crowsteps at the rear. The flanking walls include a segmentally arched opening on the left and a door on the right, both with painted margins. There is one window on the east gable and another window linking to a two-storey, five-window canted bay at the northeast corner, which has chamfered ashlar dressings, a door, and a finial on the roof. The rear of the property has large additions, and there are one and two-storey painted rubble outbuildings with slated roofs. The front garden is enclosed by a harled wall, and there are two square ashlar gatepiers at both the foot and vehicle entrances.
