Description

Morthouse, located to the south of the burial ground at Rosyth Church, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and is built into the bank on the north side, featuring a projecting eaves course on the south side.

The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, has an arched door in the north wall with a raised chamfered surround and droved tails. To the left of the door is a window, and to the right is a window slit.

On the east elevation, there are two ventilation holes, with the upper hole showing remains of an iron grill.

The south elevation features a window that is off-center to the left, a buttress to the right, and single window slits on both the left and right sides.

The west elevation has a central window with a circular hole above it. All doors and windows are currently boarded up. The structure has flat coping stones and a vaulted roof that is clad with large stone slabs, although only some of the slabs remain. The west side has a gable, while the east side has a raised flat wall. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1999.
