Description
Brucehaven is an 18th-century, two-storey, three-bay L-plan farmhouse with a single-storey range to the east. The exterior is harled in an orange color, featuring ashlar surrounds to the windows, doors, and coping to the dormers.
On the north elevation, there is a central replacement panelled door flanked by windows. Above, three gabled dormer windows are centered, with three additional windows in the range to the left. The east elevation has a single first-floor window to the left and a plain gable on the single-storey range.
The south elevation features an advanced two-bay gable wall to the left with a replacement door to the right and a flanking window to the left. There is a central replacement door set back to the right, leading to a modern timber and glazed flat-roofed porch. To the right, there is a flanking window and a first-floor window to the left. The single-storey range has a central door with flanking windows, and there are replacement garage doors to the far right.
The west elevation has two ground floor windows and two first-floor gabled dormer windows centered above. The windows are predominantly 8-pane timber sash and case. The roof is a replacement pantile, piended to the west and gabled elsewhere, with raised flat-head skews and a coped gable apex stack on the east house gable.
The interior was not seen in 2000.
The garden wall is made of rubble with rough coping stones and extends from the northwest corner of the house gable westwards to a pair of gatepiers topped with pyramidal coping stones and a plain metal gate. The wall continues at right angles, running northwards to enclose a rectangular-plan garden, terminating in identical gatepiers with a narrow replacement gate at the northeast corner of the single-storey wing.
