Description
Shorehead, located in West Wemyss, is a house built in the mid to later 18th century. It is a rectangular-plan structure with one and two stories and features a timpany gable. The exterior is finished with harl and rubble, and it has stone cills.
The southwest elevation, facing the harbour, is symmetrical and has five evenly spaced windows on each floor, with the timpany gable breaking the eaves at the center.
The northeast elevation is a single-storey section with small windows located in the center and left bays. The northwest elevation also features a single-storey gabled section with a window positioned to the right of center.
The windows are timber sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped and harled stacks, along with a sawn-off stack on the southeast side. The house has ashlar-coped skews.
Surrounding the property are boundary walls made of brick, featuring both semicircular and flat coping.
