Description

18th century, possibly incorporating earlier fabric; renovated late 19th century. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay merchants' house. Harled with stone margins and quoins.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 2 windows to ground floor with boarded timber door to outer right; 2 windows to 1st floor and small pedimented dormer window with thistle finial over centre. Lower recessed wing to outer right with forestair to small porch at 1st floor left and small window to right, crowstepped gable to outer right.

S ELEVATION: gabled elevation with 3 regularly disposed windows to each floor.

W ELEVATION: plain rubble bay to outer right; window to centre at each floor, and small window in bay to left also at each floor; lower wing to outer left with window to ground and bipartite window to 1st floor. Later round-arched opening abutting beyond to left.

9- and 12-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows. Coutra tiles. Coped harled stack with cans and thackstanes, and ashlar-coped skews with moulded skewputts.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low coped rubble boundary walls.
