Description
Newmill is an earlier 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house built over a basement, featuring a two-storey wing that extends to the north in an L-shape. The exterior is constructed of droved ashlar stone, with raised quoins and a painted central Roman Doric doorpiece. The entrance includes a panelled door with a fanlight and splayed reveals. Most windows are 12-pane sashes, with one plate glass window; there is also a single basement window to the right. The house has symmetrically placed corniced stacks and a piended slate roof. It is enclosed by a rubble-built garden wall with corniced square gate piers, and the wrought-iron gates feature spear-head rails.
