Description

This is a 17th-century dovecote, originally associated with Lochmalony House. It is a single-chamber, lean-to structure measuring approximately 15 feet by 15 feet 2.5 inches. The dovecote is built of rubble with a stepped "rat course" and corbelled flanks; it was formerly harled. It is now roofless, having formerly had slated roofing. A separate dovecote, noted as Starr Doocot (Inventory number 323), was unfortunately demolished by the Home Guard. The dovecote is referenced in Central and North Fife, page 17, Inventory number 322.
