Description

Newcairnie is a farmhouse dating to circa 1820. It is constructed of mixed rubble with droved dressings, with the main section being a 2-window design and a central entrance bay featuring a square-headed doorway with a fanlight and a panelled blocking course. Lower, piend-roofed, symmetrical wings extend to either side, each featuring a single window. The building is roofed with slate. A later addition is present at the rear. The building is possibly the work of Gillespie Graham and is part of the Mountquhanie Estate. It forms part of a group of buildings of B group value, considered unusually fine and little altered. The statutory address is Newcairnie Farmhouse.
