Description
The steading at Rathillet House largely dates from the late 18th century, with a western range dated 1790. This range features finely detailed, segmentally arched cartsheds set within a courtyard. However, the steading incorporates older elements, including a two-storey, two-window former house, with a smaller central first-floor window. This house is reputedly from the early to mid-18th century and has been gutted, significantly altered at ground floor level, and now has an asbestos roof, with no visible chimneys. The remainder of the steading group is well-preserved, with some sections roofed with slates and others with pantiles. The steading is referenced in Central and N Fife p17.
