Description
This is an 18th-century doocot, or pigeon house, situated within the grounds of Rathillet House. It is a rectangular, lean-to structure built of rubble stone without a rat course, featuring droved dressings around the door. The straight skews, which form the sloping sides of the roof, are stepped at half their height and are topped with ball finials. A cubical sundial is positioned on the south-east skew; the west skew has partially collapsed. The roof is slated, with a line of pigeon entrance holes approximately halfway up the building. Brick and tile boxes are also present. References can be found in "Central and N Fife" (page 17), Inventory number 321.
