Description
Strathmiglo's South Lodge, built around 1820-1830, is a single-storey, roughly L-shaped lodge designed in the Greek Revival style. It features a distinctive shallow bow window on the main elevation, supported by Doric colonettes, with the central arch segmentally arched. The lodge includes a tetrastyle Doric portico and a shallow canted bay with Doric colonettes on the south elevation. It has a low pitched roof with deep eaves and bargeboards. The structure is made of red ashlar sandstone, while the rear extension is rendered. It is situated at the south entrance to the estate and includes a base course, eaves course, and blocking course.
The windows are timber sash and case with lying pane glazing. There is an ashlar stack with a simple cope and yellow clay cans, and the bays are covered with grey slates and lead roofs.
