28 High Street, Strathmiglo

28 High Street in Strathmiglo is a pair of nearly identical 2-storey, 3-bay houses built around 1800. They share a common roof line and similar skewputts. Number 28 features a dry-dashed exterior with pointed quoins and margins, a base course, an eaves course, and a cornice. It has a corniced, pilastered doorpiece, with enlarged ground floor windows fitted with modern glazing and plate glass sashes on the first floor. Number 30 is less ornate, with a harled finish and pointed margins, an eaves course, and a cornice. It has sash and case windows with 4-pane glazing. Both houses are topped with grey slates, ashlar skews, scroll skewputts, and corniced stacks.

Inside, number 28 boasts fine beaded plasterwork in the hall, a turnpike stair, a simple ceiling rosette with a flower motif, and fluted door architraves. In contrast, number 30 has little plasterwork remaining and features simple classical chimneypieces.

At the rear of number 28, there is a single-storey outbuilding with a lintel dated 1806 and a gable supported by projecting corbels, though its original purpose is uncertain.
