Strathmiglo, Pitlour House, West Lodge

Pitlour House West Lodge is a single-storey and attic building constructed between 1820 and 1830. It has a rectangular plan and features three bays, presenting a Picturesque style. The lodge includes gothic-arched windows on the gable walls, deep eaves with exposed rafter ends, and a small wing with a half piend roof on the northeast side. There are catslide dormers flanking a full dormer at the rear.

This lodge is located at the west entrance to the estate and is built from red ashlar sandstone, complemented by polished ashlar dressings and quoins. The window and door openings are chamfered, and hoodmoulds are present above the windows. The front elevation features diamond lattice glazing in timber casement windows, while pointed windows on the gable ends also have this glazing style. The extension and rear elevation have traditional small pane glazing in sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are tall harled stacks with yellow clay cans.
