Description
The Clock and Lamp Standard on North Street in Bo'ness is an early 20th century cast-iron lamp standard created by A Ballantine & Sons, which has been converted to also function as a pillar clock. The clock, made by James Ritchie & Sons, was assembled and erected in 1985. The structure features a squared rubble square-section plinth that includes a commemorative plaque. The base of the lamp standard has another plaque that reads, "Lighting standard donated by A Ballantine & Sons, New Grange Foundry, Bo'ness, 1985." The lamp column is fluted and decorated with dolphins and shells at its base.
