Jubilee Fountain, Market Street, Bo'Ness

The Jubilee Fountain, located on Market Street in Bo'Ness, was built in 1887. It is a three-stage drinking fountain made of granite, featuring a decorative cast-iron lamp. The square base is inscribed with the words 'THE GIFT OF JAMES ALLAN 1887'. Above the base, there is a pedestal that displays a bronze relief bust of Queen Victoria on the north side. The fountain includes a semicircular stone trough with bronze lion heads on the east and west sides, and the bronze coat of arms of Bo'Ness, which reads 'SINE METU', is located on the south side. The slightly set-back third stage has blocked segmental-headed openings on each face, with the northern opening featuring the incised wording 'JUBILEE DRINKING FOUNTAIN'. This stage culminates in a tapering polygonal cap topped by a cast-iron shaft and a four-light decorative lamp.
