Description
The Old School Hall, built around 1810, is a single-storey, three-bay rectangular former school room that is attached to the south gable of the Old School House, which has been converted into a residence. The building is constructed from pink sandstone rubble, featuring painted and droved ashlar dressings. It has three large windows on the west elevation and a gabled porch that projects from the centre of the south gable, which includes windows and a door on the return. There is also a blind ventilation slit in the main gable. The sash and case windows have a small-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with pantiles and has ashlar coped skews.
Additionally, there are retaining walls and piers associated with the Old School House, which is listed separately. The former playground to the south has gablet coping on its rubble walls, and there is a wrought-iron lamp bracket located by the southwest angle of the wall.
