Description
Lempockwells is an earlier 19th century farmhouse, likely incorporating earlier elements, designed in an L-plan with two storeys and a basement on the gabled north side. The building is constructed of red sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and features an eaves course.
On the south elevation, there is a base course and three symmetrical bays. The central bay contains a corniced door with a moulded surround and a decorative fanlight above it. Tall windows are located in the flanking bays at the ground level, with a window in each bay on the first floor. A French door is found in the west return elevation.
The east elevation has four almost symmetrical bays, with two closely grouped in the centre, and a window in each bay on both floors. The north elevation features a basement door and a window on the first and second floors to the left. There is a lean-to porch and outbuildings in the re-entrant angle, which include three doors and two windows. The sash and case windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern. The building has end stacks and a roof covered with grey slates, pitched and piended.
Surrounding the property, there are garden walls made of high rubble with ashlar copings to the west of the house, which include two serpentine quadrants adjoining the west elevation. Currently, this area is closed off to the west by modern farm buildings. Additionally, there are two square ashlar corniced gatepiers at the drive, each topped with ball finials.
