Description
27 East Road is a simple classical house built around 1800. It is two stories high and has three bays, with a harled exterior featuring rusticated quoins on the south and east sides. The sash and case windows on the south and east have lying-pane glazing, while the north side has small-pane glazing.
On the south elevation, there is a broad pilastered doorpiece with a deep-set panelled door and a small-pane strip fanlight above it. The north elevation features a U-plan stair projection at the center with a window above, and there is a doorway to the east. The east elevation has two windows on the ground floor and one on the first floor, topped by a slated roof with end stacks. The house was restored in 1954.
