Description
10 Newington Road is a classical house built around 1805, featuring two storeys and a basement with a symmetrical three-bay design and advanced outer bays. The exterior is constructed from cream sandstone ashlar and includes a base course, a cill course for the first-floor windows, a cornice, and a blocking course. The advanced outer bays are adorned with giant order panelled pilasters that have decorative rosettes.
On the entrance elevation, there are steps leading up to a central tripartite doorway with a panelled door and a round-arched plate glass fanlight. This doorway is flanked by Doric columns supporting a corniced doorpiece, with a single window above. The ground floor features segmental-arched panels for the windows in the outer bays, while the first floor has a tripartite window on the outer left and a single window on the outer right.
The windows are made of plate glass and are timber sash and case style. The house has a grey slate piended roof, with coped rendered wallheads and ridge stacks, as well as moulded cans. There is a later box dormer on the south side.
Inside, the house includes panelled doors and decorative plasterwork. The property is enclosed by a low boundary wall with gatepiers and replacement railings.
