1 Bowmont Terrace, Queen's Road, Dunbar

1 Bowmont Terrace in Dunbar is a pair of mirrored houses built in 1884. They are two stories tall with an attic and each house has three bays that step down from the center. The exterior is made of red sandstone rubble that is snecked and squared, with vertically droved ashlar dressings. The roofs are covered with slate.

The doors feature shouldered lintels, semi-circular fanlights, and hoodmoulds, all topped with a pediment. Each house has projecting square three-light mullion and transom windows with chamfered angles and stops, and these windows are covered by a fish-scale slated pentice roof. There are small pedimented panels on the first floor, a cill course at the first floor, and central lips in the lintels. The dormers are segmentally pedimented and have finials. Decorative features include a gargoyle gutter head on the party wall and plain barge boarding with moulded eaves brackets.

The windows of No. 2 have plate glass in the sashes, while No. 1 has small-pane upper sashes. No. 2 underwent alterations by the architectural firm Sydney Mitchell and Wilson in 1901.
