Description

The Doocot at Northfield House in Prestonpans is a 17th-century structure built from sandstone rubble. It features a three-stage beehive design, with two string courses that separate the stages and two rat courses. There is a barred doorway on the north side, which has tooled ashlar dressings. Inside, there are 600 stone nesting boxes for doves.
