Description

The Dovecot at Phantassie is an 18th-century beehive structure with a circumference of 56 feet that narrows towards the top. It features an unusual ashlar coping that encloses a slated swept roof to the south. The exterior is made of whinstone rubble and is harled, with three rat courses. There is an entrance on the north side, which has 16 flight holes located below the eaves course, along with four additional holes in a small dormer on the roof. Inside, there are 570 nests and a potence.
