Description

The Limekilns at Middlemains were rebuilt between 1817 and 1820. They are rectangular double kilns, measuring approximately 45 feet by 60 feet, with battered sides that abut the hillside. The structure is made of squared rubble. There are two four-draw kilns, each featuring three independent vent arches and one common arch, all of which are stone vaulted. The front has three arches, while each side has two arches.
